Bradford Greenleaf is a Principal and the Chief Investment Officer of TriNexus Capital. He manages the firm’s portfolios and directs its equity research effort. Mr. Greenleaf brings over 30 years of institutional investment experience to TriNexus, having managed equities for pensions, endowments, mutual funds, hedge funds, commingled, and sub-advisory portfolios since 1986. Mr. Greenleaf has designed and managed investment strategies integrating quantitative and fundamental perspectives in the U.S., Global, and International (Developed, and Emerging) markets.

Prior to joining TriNexus Mr. Greenleaf was the Director of Research at Beaconcrest Capital Management, LLC from 2012 – 2018. There, he oversaw all aspects of the quantitative and fundamental research on which the firm’s investment strategies were based, and managed the firm’s US and International portfolios.

From 2004 – 2008 Mr. Greenleaf was a Managing Principal who served as the Quantitative Head of Global Equities and Director of Global/International Quantitative Equity Research at Putnam Investments from 2004 to 2008. At Putnam, Mr. Greenleaf designed Global Equities investment strategy combining both quantitative and fundamental inputs. Mr. Greenleaf managed $10 billion in Institutional and mutual fund Portfolios at Putnam, where he achieved Lipper Top-Quartile 1-, 3-, and 5-year performance for global equity funds.

From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Greenleaf was a Principal and the Director of International Equities at Independence Investment Associates (a subsidiary of John Hancock) where he oversaw all aspects of the firm’s international investment operations with $4 billion AUM.

Mr. Greenleaf designed the firm’s international developed markets equity strategies, as well as its active emerging markets strategy which resulted in being named the WSJ’s #1 Performing Emerging Markets Mutual Fund for 2003. Mr. Greenleaf joined Independence in 1994 as a Vice President to start the firm’s international investment effort where he ultimately managed all of the firm’s international equity portfolios. It was at Independence that Mr. Greenleaf first established an investment framework to integrate the firm’s fundamental research effort with quantitative investment approaches.

Prior to Independence, Mr. Greenleaf was Vice President at Franklin Portfolio Associates, Inc. (a subsidiary of Mellon Bank) from 1989-1994. As Vice President, Mr. Greenleaf started up the firm’s international investment effort and managed all international equity portfolios- $50 million in assets. Mr. Greenleaf joined Franklin in 1986 as an Investment Officer, where he researched and developed valuation models for Franklin’s U.S. investment strategies. Mr. Greenleaf managed $500 million in multiple U.S. active core portfolios for Franklin, and managed all U.S. active concentrated portfolios as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee (over $3 billion in assets).

Mr. Greenleaf holds a Master of Science Degree in Management with concentrations in Finance and Applied Economics from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.A. in Mathematics and German from Bowdoin College. Mr. Greenleaf also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
